On the night of the 16th of May 2019, a 19 years old girl was run over by a bus and got admitted to ILS Hospital-Salt Lake with multiple fractures. She had fractures on the right legs and right arm (shaft of humerus, shaft of tibia & fibula and shaft of femur).
After an initial correction of all the physiological disorders such as lack of breathing or heartbeat (resuscitation) and replenishing bodily fluid lost (volume replacement), she was operated on the 18th of May 2019. All the fractures were successfully fixed on the same day. The operating team operated from morning 9 am till 4 pm. She made a routine recovery and was discharged on 24th May.
At present she is recovering at home under the supervision of our physiotherapist.
Congratulations to our entire ILS Salt Lake Orthopaedic team for the prompt, modern, successful & professional management of such a significant multiple traumatic injury patient (polytrauma patient).
